Preparation for BOYL 2019

Hey, I notice I've a couple of new follower, so let's give you something to see, if you've found this page via the Oldhammer Forum you'll know I've been painting up part of my collection of early Lizardmen / Slann  in preparation for BOYL, and a few days ago I said I'd take my figures out of their boxes and take a few pictures so that you could see them all, as you'll not be seeing them at BOYL as the games they'll be taking part in aren't really big enough (the largest being 9000 points a side) So, here's my pictures and for the first time - videos as I'm unable to up-load a complete file!

Hope you enjoy

A Gathering of Dragons

Been a long time since I posted here, not that I haven't been busy, just haven't been posting!

Here's a little something I did over the Easter holidays - totally re-vamped my C series Red Dragon, stripped, re-built, and splashed a bit of paint about, on the whole very happy with the result

Here she is with her contemporary's.

 Enjoy

Preparation for BOYL - Amazons

I've not been posting recently as most of my potential free time has been taken up with preparation for Bring Out Your Lead (BOYL) 2018, for which I'm painting the original C30 series Amazons designed by the Perrys back in the days that they worked for Citadel/Games Workshop featured in the Rigg's Shrine Games in the Second Citadel Compendium and examples of them can be found at the Stuff of Legends here  and here showing Tony Ackland's original sketches and some well painted examples of the figures themselves.

Please find below a selection of pictures of my most recent efforts so far mixed in with their former owners original paintwork, towards taking part in an re-enactment of the Rigg's Shrine game at Foundry in August. Hope you enjoy my efforts?

Thanks for looking

The development of a surprise purchase

For the last few years Zerotwentythree has run a painting challenge on the Oldhammer Forum , unfortunately this year I didn't have anything suitable immediately to hand so turned to E-bay to see what I could find without hitting the pocket too hard and found this little thing, not an official giant but at least something of a size which would fit brief. Until it turned up & I started looking over the figure I had no idea who manufactured or designed it - turned out to be by a company by the name of Phoenix Developments Limited, from their lost world of Atlantis range - a Female warrior with cobra by Tim Richards. Not quite what I was expecting, but then again, I didn't know what to expect. Any way I'll put this one down to a bit of fun, which will more than likely sit on a high shelf, out of reach of sticky little fingers. Then again, if, I was to ever get enough 'C' series Amazonian together to form an army - who knows, she could take the part of their giant!

Enjoy
